As one of Pangasinan’s fastest-growing cities and the gateway to the world-famous Hundred Islands National Park, the City of Alaminos continues to experience steady growth in tourism, commerce, and urban development. With this progress comes the increasing responsibility of ensuring that every household, business, and community has access to a reliable supply of clean and potable water.

However, with the city’s increasing population, rapid commercial development, growing tourism industry, and the effects of prolonged dry seasons, maintaining reliable water delivery has become increasingly challenging. To further strengthen its commitment to serving its concessionaires, Alaminos City Water District (ACWD) has officially acquired its very own Autokid Water Tanker, providing a more sustainable and efficient solution for emergency water delivery operations across its service areas.

Addressing Water Supply Challenges Across Alaminos

More than a new vehicle, this investment represents ACWD’s continued commitment to providing dependable public service while preparing for the growing demands of its expanding service area. Highlighting this responsibility, Ms. Ruth Leah C. Casaña, Department Manager of the Administrative and Human Resources Department of the Alaminos City Water District, shared:

“The Alaminos City Water District is the primary source of water supply in the City of Alaminos and five barangays of Mabini.”

As Alaminos continues to grow as a hub for tourism, commerce, and local development, the water demand has steadily increased. Coupled with the effects of El Niño and water pressure concerns in far-flung barangays, maintaining a reliable water supply has become an even greater challenge for the water district. Reflecting on these realities, Ms. Casaña added:

“With the increasing water demand brought about by tourism, industrialization, and commercial development, along with the effects of El Niño, we needed a more sustainable way to serve our concessionaires.”

Before acquiring its own unit, ACWD relied on rented water trucks to deliver potable water to affected communities during periods of high demand and supply interruptions. While this helped address immediate needs, the continuous rental of water trucks resulted in high operational costs over time.

Built to Support Reliable Water Distribution

Recognizing the need for a long-term and more sustainable solution, the management and Board of Directors approved the procurement of an Autokid Water Tanker. With its own dedicated unit, ACWD can now respond more quickly to water delivery requirements, improve emergency operations, reduce long-term operational expenses, and strengthen its commitment to providing reliable water services to the communities it serves.

Purpose-built for public utility operations, the unit offers features that help ACWD deliver potable water wherever it is needed most, including:

  • 8-Cubic Meter Water Tank Capacity – Allows ACWD to transport and deliver large volumes of potable water in a single trip, improving efficiency during scheduled deliveries and emergency water distribution.
  • Heavy-Duty Tank Construction – Built for durability and continuous operation, ensuring reliable performance for daily public utility services.
  • Reliable Water Distribution Solution – Enables faster deployment of potable water to affected communities, helping address supply interruptions and periods of increased demand.
  • Designed for Various Road Conditions – Its robust build allows the unit to operate across both urban roads and more remote barangays, bringing essential water services closer to underserved communities.
  • Cost-Efficient Operations – By owning its own dedicated water tanker, ACWD can significantly reduce its dependence on rented water trucks, resulting in long-term operational savings while improving service reliability.

With every feature designed to support efficient water delivery, the Autokid Water Tanker helps ensure that safe and potable water reaches the communities that depend on it, especially when it matters most.

Ready to Serve the Communities of Alaminos

Now officially received at ACWD’s operations facility, the new Autokid Water Tanker is ready to support water delivery operations throughout the City of Alaminos and its surrounding service areas. With its deployment, the water district expects to:

  • Improve emergency water delivery response
  • Reduce dependence on rented water trucks
  • Lower operational expenses
  • Strengthen water distribution during peak demand
  • Better support communities affected by water interruptions and dry seasons

Ms. Casaña expressed her gratitude to everyone who made the project possible, emphasizing how the new unit will help ACWD better fulfill its mission to serve the community.

“Today, that water tanker has become a reality. We have officially received the unit, and it will be a great help in delivering water to our concessionaires. This is part of our commitment to continuously provide potable water to the communities we serve, while also helping reduce operational costs for the water district.”

She also reaffirmed the water district’s dedication to the people it serves.

“To our concessionaires, we would like to assure you that ACWD remains committed to providing a reliable water supply throughout the city. With our new water tanker, and in coordination with the city government, we are better equipped to support our communities and future projects for the benefit of our concessionaires.”

Working alongside the local government, ACWD continues to strengthen its ability to provide safe, reliable, and accessible water services for every community under its coverage.
