The City of Ilagan, under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Josemarie L. Diaz, has always championed progress and development for its people. During the ceremony, this vision was further echoed as Vice Mayor Jay Eveson Diaz graced the event on behalf of the Mayor, joined by members of the City Council, community leaders, Autokid executives, and partners from both the public and private sectors.

For over 14 years, Autokid Mobility Solutions has stood as a trusted partner of businesses and local governments, helping drive progress from Luzon to Mindanao. With 17 branches nationwide, a dedicated in-house Action Center, ISO-certified service centers, mobile servicing, and strong after-sales support, Autokid continues to build a legacy of reliability and growth for its clients.

Now, another chapter begins. On September 29, 2025, Autokid Mobility Solutions held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for its newest branch in Ilagan City, Isabela. This milestone not only marks the company’s expansion into Region 2 but also reaffirms its mission of empowering communities through dependable mobility solutions.

A Symbol of Legacy: The Time Capsule and Golden Shovel

As part of the ceremony, a time capsule was placed into the foundation to symbolize the vision and legacy of this new chapter. Inside the capsule is the building blueprint signed by Equinox Construction and the CEO of Autokid Mobility Solutions. It stands as a reminder of the collaboration, trust, and commitment that brought this project to life. The ceremonial dig was made using the golden Autokid shovel, held by distinguished leaders and partners who marked the official beginning of construction.

A Testament to Ilagan’s Growth

Vice Mayor Diaz warmly welcomed Autokid’s entry, underscoring the significance of choosing Ilagan as the home for its new facility.

“Napakasaya natin dahil sa dami ng lugar dito sa Northern Luzon, dito sa Ilagan pinili ilagay ang Autokid Mobility Solutions,” he shared. He highlighted the city’s standing as one of the Top 3 Most Business-Friendly Cities in the Philippines, emphasizing that investments like Autokid’s create not just infrastructure, but also jobs, local income, and improved social services.

He also stressed how mobility solutions are essential for disaster preparedness, health, and business operations. With Ilagan’s rapid economic rise, he affirmed that Autokid’s presence is both timely and transformative.

Planting Seeds for Progress

Representing Autokid Mobility Solutions, Mr. Jefrie Mendoza, Business Development Head, expressed gratitude for the trust and support of Ilagan’s leaders and people.

“Today, we are laying the foundation not just for a new facility, but for a stronger future in mobility and enterprise,” he said. “Our vision is clear: to bring efficient, effective, and economic mobility solutions closer to enterprises in Region 2, empowering businesses from agriculture to logistics, while creating new jobs and opportunities.”

He emphasized Autokid’s data-driven approach, which ensures the company continues to anticipate and respond to the evolving needs of industries, government, and communities.

A Shared Vision for the Future

Autokid Mobility Solutions CEO Mr. Kevin McHale Yao described the groundbreaking ceremony as “a promise.”

“This is more than the start of a new facility; it is a symbol of a shared vision. Ilagan’s bold leadership and progressive spirit align perfectly with Autokid’s mission to provide mobility solutions that empower businesses and strengthen communities,” he emphasized.

Mr. Yao also recalled Ilagan’s pioneering efforts in transport modernization, which cemented the city as one of the earliest to adopt the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). He credited this vision as one of the key reasons Autokid committed to establishing a branch in the city.

“For us businessmen, it is an honor to have the opportunity to put up shop here. We are proud to align with Ilagan’s vision and to drive mobility, growth, and resilience together.”

Partnership and Commitment

From the construction side, Mr. Jed Cara of Equinox Construction shared his excitement at being chosen to lead the project. He emphasized that their team is fully committed to delivering a facility that reflects both Autokid’s standards and Ilagan’s vision for progress.

“With the support of our partners and the community, we are confident that this project will be completed in about six months,” Mr. Cara said. “This facility will not only stand as a symbol of growth, but will also serve the businesses and communities of Ilagan and the entire Region 2 for generations to come.”

Meanwhile, Sir Generick Sison, TMO Division Head of Autokid, emphasized the long planning behind this milestone. “This was envisioned three years ago, and today we see it come to life. This is not just for Autokid or Ilagan, but for the whole region.”

Driving Businesses, Empowering Communities

Autokid’s entry into Ilagan marks another step forward in its commitment to serve Filipino enterprises with world-class trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment. Beyond sales and service, the new branch will play a crucial role in providing accessible mobility solutions for agriculture, logistics, public safety, and disaster response.

As Vice Mayor Diaz shared, every business that invests in Ilagan opens doors for more opportunities. With Autokid’s presence, the city gains not only infrastructure but also the promise of sustainable growth, stronger enterprises, and empowered communities.

Looking Ahead

The Groundbreaking Ceremony ended with a shared spirit of hope and determination. As the first shovels struck the ground, they represented more than the start of construction. They symbolized a vision of progress, connection, and growth.

With completion expected in just six months, the Ilagan branch is set to become a key hub for Autokid’s mobility solutions in Region 2. More than a facility, it will be a gateway for businesses to expand, for communities to grow stronger, and for progress to move forward.

For Autokid Mobility Solutions and the people of Ilagan, this marks the beginning of a broader journey where mobility fuels prosperity, widens opportunities, and builds stronger communities across the region and the nation.
