One of the most recent turnovers was in Barangay Sapang Maisac, where the unit was officially received on February 26, after a brief delay from the initial February 19 schedule. For Barangay Captain Domingo Hernandez, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Mayor Gonzales emphasized that barangay captains must personally receive the trucks, as they are responsible for overseeing their use and maintenance. According to him, these units are essential tools in ensuring each barangay complies with proper waste disposal standards, and that the responsibility starts with strong local leadership.
Stronger Ordinance, Cleaner Streets
The deployment of these Autokid units supports the municipality’s enforcement of Ordinance No. 044-2016, which prohibits:
- Littering and illegal dumping
- Burning of solid waste
- Collection of unsegregated garbage
- Dumping in flood-prone areas
Violators face fines of ₱500 to ₱2,500, imprisonment of up to six months, and potential charges under Republic Act 9003. But with better tools and stronger barangay capacity, enforcement becomes easier, and results, more visible.
