“Nandito na po yung limang truck, isang compactor at isang mobile kitchen. Nung umattend po ako ng LCP sa Conrad Hotel, nakita ko po yung Autokid na nag-advertise. Nakita ko na ito ang kailangan namin dito sa Lungsod ng Baliwag,” shared Mayor Mommy Sonia Estrella.
Recognizing that these units addressed the exact challenges faced by Baliuag, particularly in maintaining cleanliness across barangays, the Mayor immediately initiated discussions with Autokid’s representative and requested coordination with the Mayor’s Office.
“Talagang interesado ako na makakuha ng mga truck dahil alam na alam ko na malaking tulong ito para sa kalinisan ng Lungsod ng Baliwag,” she added.
To ensure long-term durability, especially for garbage collection, where exposure to acidic waste is unavoidable, the city opted to enhance the units with stainless components.
“Pinastainless ko po ang mga truck para magtagal dahil acidic ang basura. Mahalaga na pangmatagalan ang gamit,” the Mayor explained.
Through the addition of modern garbage compactors and dump trucks, Baliuag City is better equipped to reduce flood risks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure uninterrupted garbage collection. After disasters, these same dump trucks become essential tools for clearing debris and supporting faster recovery.
Strengthening Waste Management at the Barangay Level
Turning leadership vision into action requires coordination on the ground. Mr. Vrent Garcia, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, plays a key role in supporting the rollout of programs that directly affect daily life in Baliuag City.
“Isa po ang Baliwag sa fast-rising cities sa Bulacan. Kaya ang mga problema tulad ng basura at segregation ay talagang tinututukan namin,” Mr. Garcia explained.
While most barangays already had garbage trucks, many of these units had aged, leading to frequent breakdowns, collection delays, and occasional waste buildup.
“Dahil sa kinalumaan ng mga garbage truck, nagkakaroon ng delays at pagkasira. Kaya nagdesisyon po kaming magdagdag ng limang bagong garbage trucks at isang garbage compactor na high quality at maganda ang specs,” he said.
With the addition of these new units, household and residual waste that previously piled up can now be collected more quickly and efficiently, providing faster and more reliable sanitation services for residents.

“Napakahirap po noon magluto sa bahay at dalhin ang pagkain sa mga areas na binabaha at tinatamaan ng malalakas na ulan,” Mr. Garcia shared.
Thanks to the new mobile kitchen, these challenges are greatly reduced.
“Dahil bago, malaki, at mas modernong mobile kitchen ng Autokid, mas napadali na ang pagpapakain sa mga kababayan nating naapektuhan ng bagyo,” he added.
