When disaster strikes, speed, coordination, and connectivity can mean the difference between chaos and recovery. That’s why the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) partnered with Autokid Mobility Solutions to elevate the country’s disaster preparedness through a robust fleet of logistics and emergency response vehicles.

Deployed in 2024, these units, which include 14 Autokid Mobile Command Centers (MCCs), 11 Autokid Aluminum Vans for relief delivery, and 13 Autokid Forklifts for warehouse operations that now play a vital role in reinforcing post-disaster logistics nationwide. This partnership includes not only the delivery of goods, but also the restoration of communication, internet access, and electric power that are essential for both responders and affected families in calamity-stricken areas. Mobile Command Centers: The Heart of Emergency Connectivity

Autokid’s Mobile Command Centers (MCCs) aren’t ordinary vehicles — they are mobile lifelines. In the aftermath of typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and power or internet outages, MCCs are rapidly deployed to ground zero to restore critical infrastructure for emergency teams and the affected public. Each MCC is equipped with:

  • 🔌 Built-in Generators – A dependable source of electricity for local responders and evacuees to power devices, lighting, and temporary operations centers.
  •  🌐 Starlink Satellite Internet – Stable, high-speed connectivity even when traditional telecom services are down.
  • 🛠 Redundant Systems – Double setups for power and internet ensure uninterrupted operations in high-pressure situations.
  • 🖥 Surveillance and Communications Equipment – Supports real-time coordination and reporting between agencies and command hubs.

Through these advanced capabilities, MCCs serve as on-the-ground extensions of DSWD’s central Disaster Response Command Center (DRCC).

Support Beyond the Frontlines: Delivery and Warehouse Efficiency

Autokid also delivered 11 Aluminum Vans dedicated to the timely delivery of relief goods, and 13 Forklifts to optimize warehouse logistics across DSWD hubs nationwide.

These vehicles are critical in:

  • Transporting family food packs (FFPs), bottled water, hygiene kits, and tents
  • Organizing supplies for faster sorting and deployment
  • Boosting the capacity and efficiency of DSWD’s regional warehouses

The result? Faster, more reliable delivery of life-saving aid — from storage facilities to evacuation sites.

Real-World Impact: From Typhoon ‘Marce’ to Mt. Kanlaon and Tropical Storm ‘Enteng’

ERUPTION OF MT. KANLAON

In June 2024 eruption of Mt. Kanlaon, supporting coordination and logistics in affected areas. See it in action here. With the help of DSWD’s AGAPP system, teams were able to:

  • Geotag and capture incident reports
  • Submit real-time data to the ROC and DRCC
  • Coordinate with the RDRRMC for a faster response

TYPHOON MARCE

Autokid’s Mobile Command Centers were once again put to the test during Typhoon Marce in November 2024, which swept through Northern Luzon. Units were deployed to Regions I, II, and CAR, among the hardest-hit areas. In Apayao, one command center served not only as a base for coordination but also as a lifeline for evacuees, providing power for charging devices and restoring internet access via Starlink. “Our MCC houses surveillance and communication devices, power supply, and other equipment. We’ve seen evacuees benefit directly from the unit wherever it’s stationed,” — Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, DSWD

TROPICAL STORM ENTENG

Most recently, on September 2, 2024, DSWD Field Office 5 deployed its MCC to Naga City, Camarines Sur, to strengthen disaster monitoring and communication during Tropical Storm “Enteng.” Read more about it here. With the MCC on-site, the team ensured faster report submissions and more reliable coordination between disaster operation groups, essential for delivering immediate aid to storm-affected communities.

“With the MCC on-site, the Field Office 5 anticipates more reliable communication, and faster report submissions between disaster operation groups and offices…” — DSWD Field Office 5

From typhoons and volcanic eruptions to heavy storms, Autokid’s MCCs continue to prove that reliable transport and communications infrastructure are critical lifelines in emergencies.
