The Province of Quezon continues to enhance its public service delivery with the turnover of the “ProVet on the Go” Mobile Veterinary Clinic and a Multi-Purpose Support Vehicle, strengthening veterinary operations and outreach across the province.
Led by Governor Helen Tan together with Provincial Veterinarian Flomelia Caguicla, this initiative brings faster, more responsive, and more accessible animal healthcare services to communities across both mainland and island municipalities.
At the center of this milestone is the first mobile veterinary clinic in Southern Quezon, designed to deliver frontline veterinary care directly to communities in need.
Expanding Veterinary Care Across Mainland and Island Communities
According to Doc. Camille Calaycay of the Provincial Veterinary Office, the ProVet on the Go, will serve as a key platform for province-wide veterinary medical missions across Quezon Province under the Animal Health and Welfare Division.
Through regular outreach activities, veterinary teams are able to directly serve barangays, mainland municipalities, and island communities, ensuring that animal healthcare services are delivered where they are most needed.
This approach significantly improves access to veterinary care by reducing the need for long travel, while ensuring timely support for companion animals, livestock, and poultry across the province.
A Mobile Veterinary Clinic Built for Modern Animal Healthcare
The ProVet on the Go is equipped to support a wide range of veterinary services during field operations, including, but not limited to:
- Mass anti-rabies vaccination campaigns for community-wide protection
- Veterinary consultations and diagnosis for sick animals
- Deworming and preventive wellness care
- Spay and neuter services for population control
- Treatment for common livestock and poultry diseases
- Farm and backyard livestock health monitoring
- Emergency response support during outbreaks
These services are delivered directly in communities through organized veterinary missions, improving both coverage and response time across the province.
To ensure efficient field operations, the unit was carefully designed with practical and durable features that support veterinary teams during deployments, including:
- Durable and hygienic interior layout
- Organized medical and storage compartments
- Integrated electrical and water systems
- Mobile-ready consultation and treatment area
- Professional and highly visible exterior branding
These features allow the Provincial Veterinary Office to conduct veterinary missions more efficiently while maintaining proper medical operations even in challenging environments.
Supporting Field Operations Through a Multi-Purpose Mobility Unit
Alongside the “ProVet on the Go” Mobile Veterinary Clinic, the Provincial Government of Quezon has also deployed a Multi-Purpose Vehicle to further strengthen the efficiency, reach, and responsiveness of veterinary missions across the province.
This support unit plays a crucial role during field operations by providing additional transport capacity for veterinary teams and mission requirements. It is primarily utilized to carry personnel, animal handling equipment, veterinary supplies, cages, feed, medicines, and other essential logistics needed during outreach activities. In many instances, it also serves as a backup transport unit for animals requiring movement, transfer, or additional assistance during veterinary missions.
